Disable Trend OfficeScan password
Occasionally, even us I.T. folks do silly things and forget configuration passwords.
Such was the case when I needed to pull an old system out of retirement for a client. The client had Trend OfficeScan Client/ Server suite back when the PC was retired, and they no longer run Trend anywhere.
I needed to uninstall the OfficeScan client from the PC but couldn't remember the password. Here's what I did:
- I edited C:\Windows\ofcscan.ini in Notepad.
- I searched for [INI_CLIENT_SECTION]
- and changed the value of Uninstall_PWD=70 in that section
I then ran the uninstaller and entered "1" as the password. Voila!
